Using Positive Self-Talk to Conquer Any Goal

Do you feel like you are always talking yourself out of success?  As soon as you start to set goals for yourself, do you suddenly have nagging thoughts about how you aren’t up to the task or how you simply aren’t qualified to carry it through? 

If you have ever experienced either situation, you need to change the way you respond to your inner dialogue.  Instead of obeying your negative commands, you can use positive self-talk to counter the negativity and overcome nearly all anxious thoughts.

Setting Goals and Sticking to Them with Positive Self-Talk

Are you initially filled with excitement when you first set goals for yourself? Are these thoughts then followed by self-doubt and self-defeating thoughts that stop you in your tracks before you even get started?

It can be difficult to make the most of your life when you are constantly talking yourself out of being a success.  It can be frustrating and discouraging to have these thoughts constantly plaguing you. Many of us, in fact, don’t even realize we have them! All we know is that we don’t have the confidence to stick to our plans and reach our goals.

But there’s another way!

Positive self-talk is an effective way to set goals and ensure that you stick to them, even if you have never been able to do this before.  The way this works is that you decide what goal is important to you, and then you plan the logistics of how you are going to attain this goal.  When self-doubt starts kicking in, you will respond with affirmations that prove your success without surrendering to the negative pressure. Since you’re reading this article, it’s clear that you’re no quitter and you’re certainly not a failure, so start believing in yourself!

Re-Programming Your Mind

Affirmations are essentially positive statements that re-program your mind for the positive. The moment you have a self-defeating thought you’d be able to counter the negative with a motivating statement. An example of a positive affirmation is: “I am worthy of great success,” or “I see myself in the winner’s circle.”  What this does is replace negativity with thoughts that will help you move toward your goals instead of further away from them.

Positive self-talk is easier to implement than you might think. You may not be aware of the severity of the negative dialogue currently within your mind. However, once you begin with positive self-talk, you will suddenly realize that you are self-sabotaging the goals you set for yourself from the minute that you make them. This process can open your eyes to exactly how much this inner conversation has been interfering with your life. You’ll feel hopeful that you can now set goals and surpass them.

Through positive self-talk you will be able easily set long and short-term goals for yourself. And when you use affirmations, you’ll have accessible tools to help you push yourself further than ever before. Learning to quiet negativity with positive thoughts is a great move toward setting and attaining future goals with ease.

What Is Success?

Success can be defined as many different thing by many different people.  You have to know what YOU want to achieve for yourself. 

In order to help you get to where you want to go, I have created the Success Achievement Blueprint.  Let’s take a look at the steps you can follow to realize your own personal success.

Step 1 – Write Out Your Desired Outcome.  I have found that actually sitting down with a pad of paper and a pen and writing out my desired outcome works best for me.  I make a physical commitment to it by doing this.  So if you want to create your own product or setup a new blog, write it down and make a firm commitment.

Step 2 – Break Down Into Smaller Measurable Tasks.  Now that we know the end goal, we can work backwards.  I know it sounds funny, that you would work backwards, but this really does work.  So if we want to create a new product, we would map out smaller tasks that would get us there.  So for creating a product I might need to do the following:

Niche / Marketing Research

Gathering Information online for the content of the product

Mindmapping out the product

Creating a video for each step of the product

Producing the videos

Uploading the videos to my site

Step 3 – Schedule Tasks For Completion.  In this step we take our above tasks and we give them a hard date.  So I get my calendar out and map things out.  I have found that I can be most productive in 3-4 hour buckets of time.  Every now and then you can push the envelop and go more, but you want to avoid burnout.  So I might say that I am going to start my Niche / Market research on Monday at 9am.  I am going to spend only 1 hour on that task and then move onto the next task.  Give yourself specific time frames to stay within.  You brain will rise to the challenge, you have to just schedule your time to make it happen.

Step 4 – Visualize Your Success Daily.  A lot of people do not do this.  But take a few minutes each day to think about your end goal.  How it will make you feel to achieve it.  How things will be different in your life.  This does not have to be long, but just take time to think through it.  See yourself performing the tasks with minimal effort and getting them done on time each and every day.  This visualization technique is uses by some of the most successful athletes and business people in the the world.  Your mind is a powerful too, use it.

Step 5 – Complete Task with Reward.  It is always good to reward yourself with each success you hit.  This helps reaffirm the end goal and makes you feel good.  It could be ask simple as, take a quick 10 minute break and treat yourself to your favorite drink or a quick walk.  Do something for the success, even if it is small. 

Step 6 – Success Achieved.  Now you have walked the walk right.  You have achieved the end goal, now you are ready to move onto the next goal.  Keep stacking your success achievements and you will end up with bigger and bigger success.  Success is driven by momentum.  The more you more and achieve the bigger and bigger things will get for you.

I know that might sound a little funny at first, but there is a lot of meaning in that simple sentence.

Have you imagined your because?

Obviously YOU are involved here, as you are on the one on this journey.  I don’t know what that is, only you do.  You may have found the Warrior Forum, or you may have first started with an MLM opportunity, but some how you got HERE, where you are right now. 

You have probably had a few dreams that have been sparked by a sales letter or video.  What happens then is you IMAGINE yourself succeeding.  You IMAGINE how it would feel when you have the success that they said you could have.  Those are all great, but YOU need to figure out what really matters, your BECAUSE.

Your BECAUSE is the true driving force that could potentially make or break you.  The best thing to do is to sit down and really IMAGINE what it is that you really want.  Some people say money, but money is really the vehicle that gets you what you really want.  Maybe you want to travel, maybe you want a bigger house, maybe you just don’t want to take orders from a boss, maybe you want to make your own hours and call all the shots.  It does not matter, but really think about your DRIVING force.  Write it down.

Writing things down helps us make a subconscious commitment to things.  And if you write it down and look at it each and every day, it will give you motivation daily.

Now that you know your BECAUSE, that is your DESIRE, that is what you want, that is your driving force.

Are you ready for the simple formula for success?

You might be expecting some long drawn out scientific equation, but it is really this simple.

D > F = A

That is it, can you guess what the letters mean?

D = Desire

F = Fear

A = Action

So your DESIRE has to be greater than your FEAR of failure or doing something.

Let’s say I tell you if you make 100 phone calls, you will make a sale.  Some people are deathly afraid of the phone and would not make them no matter what.

So ultimately they would have to get enough of their DESIRE together to out weight their FEAR of making the calls.

I know it sounds simple and easy to type and easy to read, but putting it into ACTION is what need to happen.

So I challenge you right now, find your DESIRE, the real reason you WANT t his so bad, and write it down.  Right before you have to do something you are in FEAR of, read your DESIRE again, give yourself a pep talk, really pump yourself up.  This is your life and you can control the outcome.

Just remember:

You DESIRE has to be greater than your FEAR.

Take action today and put those fears behind you and take a major step towards the desire you so deserve.

In life things are always changing, sometimes the change is for the good, sometimes it is for the bad, and sometimes it really does not make a difference at all. What really matters is how you deal with that change. Your attitude will dictate your outcome. Just take a second to digest that, your ATTITUDE will dictate your OUTCOME. I know on paper that sounds really easy, anyone can say that, but can you really walk it out.

The first first thing you need to get in order is your mindset, your belief system. Do you really believe in your goals, do you believe in your desires. Dr. C. Thomas Anderson says, “Poverty is a belief of the heart, not a condition of being without money.“

What is in your heart? Do you believe with all your heart that you can have what you want? If not, then you need to start there. Get your heart right and your mind and body will follow.

Think about this for a minute. Your past choices have taken you to where you are today. You are where you are because of your decisions. If you are not where you want to be, the only way to change that is to change the choices you have made.

Sometimes it is a hard thing to do, but you have to really look at yourself. Look deep into what you really want, and push all the blame aside. Do not cast the blame on outside circumstances, but take responsibility for your life as it is. You and you alone are the only one that can change the never ending cycle.

If you are serious about change, then here is a simple process you can use.

You need to figure out your current position in life. Where are you right now. Take a serious look.

Decide where you want to be, I mean where you really want to be. You want this with all your heart. You have a passion for it.

Figure out how you can get there. Really look at your assets, what are you good at. What are you really passionate about. I know some people may have told you to not look hear first, but really, if you go outside your passion you will lose interest. Find your passion and get paid for it.

As some of you reading this will know that at the beginning of this year Charles Kirkland and I decided to create a new company and to work together. At the time this is what we thought was best for both of us. At first things were on track, we had a business plan, we had a passion to work towards, but somewhere along the way things changed. Not necessarily in a bad way, we just stared having different ideas and wanting to move in different directions. We could have both cried about it, blamed the other person, blamed other people, but we didn’t. So we decided to part ways as friends and move on.

I personally did exactly what I said above. I looked at where I was, and what I wanted to do and I took action. I took action that will move me in the direction that I want to go. Charles did the same thing. He could made excuses, but he didn’t He actually jumped into gear and launch a new WSO with Jason Parker. You probably saw that I supported him.

The key here is, we were faced with a crossroads in our lives, just like you might be right now. How you handle that will determine where you go. Get your heart in order, get your passion identified and move in the direction you really want.

The importance of building a list is no surprise.  We build a list so that we can have a residual business right.  But what is really needed to build a list effectively?  That is the question that Charles and I get all the time.  So I am going to cover some of the key elements that you should always have been building a list and generation leads. 

Here is the blueprint of how Charles and I setup our basic sales funnel list building system.

Element 1 – A Squeeze Page (Lead Capture Page)

It is funny how this got its name, a squeeze page.  Basically the concept is that you want to squeeze someone’s email address out of them.  In simple terms, you have to offer something of value, usually a report or video, in exchange for someone giving up their email address.  So in reality if you think of this like a sale, and the person has to pay with their email address.  You want to give them a compelling reason to give it to you.  This is your first chance to impress you new prospect, so don’t skimp on content, make sure it is worth while. 

Element 2 – An OTO (One Time Offer Page)

Once they give you an email address, you have the opportunity to sell something right away.  This is usually a lower prices item in the range of $7 – $17.  The best thing to do here is offer one of your products, or if you do not have a product, put one together.  A product can be created in many different ways from a simple ebook pdf download to a complete video series.  Remember people like things simple, one problem one solution.  Find their one problem and give them one way they can solve it quickly and easily.

Element 3 – A Buyer Registration Page

After the new lead buys your OTO, you can take them to a buyer registration page.  The reason you should do this is because you want to move them from your prospect list (the tire kicker) to your buyers list.  They have increased their value on your list because they have invested with you.  You can set this rule up automatically inside of Aweber.

Element 4 – A Download Page

Once they register you take them immediately to a download page where they can get the free gift that you offered them on the squeeze page and the purchase that they paid for.  Now there is nothing wrong with posting another special offer on the download page, but I would move it down on the page and deliver the content first.  That is just my personal preference.

Those are the basic elements of how to setup an effective list building lead generation funnel.

Element 5 – Traffic

The one last element is all about getting traffic to your new funnel.  This can be done in many ways.  You can buy traffic from solo ads, you can us PPV, or you can use the good old manual way of of SEO.

They are truly selfless hero’s. 

What Can We Learn From Mother’s

One lesson that immediately comes to mind is putting other people first. 

If you truly put others first, whether they are friends, people you just meet,  your customers, anyone.  If you reach out and offer to help them in whatever way you can, you will make a lasting bond with them. 

Think about how great your business would be if you treated all of your customers like this.  Now it is not always possible to help everybody in every way, but if you make a conscientious effort to rally try, you will see big results in your business and your life.
