List Building Blueprint – Key Elements for Lead Generation

The importance of building a list is no surprise.  We build a list so that we can have a residual business right.  But what is really needed to build a list effectively?  That is the question that Charles and I get all the time.  So I am going to cover some of the key elements that you should always have been building a list and generation leads.

Element 1 – A Squeeze Page (Lead Capture Page)

It is funny how this got its name, a squeeze page.  Basically the concept is that you want to squeeze someone’s email address out of them.  In simple terms, you have to offer something of value, usually a report or video, in exchange for someone giving up their email address.  So in reality if you think of this like a sale, and the person has to pay with their email address.  You want to give them a compelling reason to give it to you.  This is your first chance to impress you new prospect, so don’t skimp on content, make sure it is worth while. 

Element 2 – An OTO (One Time Offer Page)

Once they give you an email address, you have the opportunity to sell something right away.  This is usually a lower prices item in the range of $7 – $17.  The best thing to do here is offer one of your products, or if you do not have a product, put one together.  A product can be created in many different ways from a simple ebook pdf download to a complete video series.  Remember people like things simple, one problem one solution.  Find their one problem and give them one way they can solve it quickly and easily.

Element 3 – A Buyer Registration Page

After the new lead buys your OTO, you can take them to a buyer registration page.  The reason you should do this is because you want to move them from your prospect list (the tire kicker) to your buyers list.  They have increased their value on your list because they have invested with you.  You can set this rule up automatically inside of Aweber.

Element 4 – A Download Page

Once they register you take them immediately to a download page where they can get the free gift that you offered them on the squeeze page and the purchase that they paid for.  Now there is nothing wrong with posting another special offer on the download page, but I would move it down on the page and deliver the content first.  That is just my personal preference.

Those are the basic elements of how to setup an effective list building lead generation funnel.

Element 5 – Traffic

The one last element is all about getting traffic to your new funnel.  This can be done in many ways.  You can buy traffic from solo ads, you can us PPV, or you can use the good old manual way of of SEO.
